A break that took me around the World

Everyone has at some point in their life contemplated doing just that. I decided to combine travel with the holiday, I needed to address some personal concerns.

What was my schedule? It was a strange one; I couldn’t even plan anything, but I just decided to go ahead and start and see what happened. It was terrifying, but also fascinating; it is about feeling the freedom of not having a trip booked to return, without knowing what will happen tomorrow.

I bought my first flight ticket, packed the essentials in my backpack, and went across the Atlantic to Venezuela, where I was born.

I’ve always wanted to travel throughout Venezuela, but many countries prohibit travel there, and I know you’d say you’re from there. But, in reality, things have changed dramatically in the last year.

It is great to visit the birthplace of Simon Bolivar! Places are safer than they were a few years ago, but safer does not mean non-hazardous. A travel agency can help you realize your fantasy of swimming beneath the world’s tallest waterfall or swimming in the paradisiacal archipelago of Los Roques.

After Venezuela, I crossed into Colombia and spent a week travelling between Bogotá and Medellín. What can I say about Colombia? I need to return there; it is outstanding.

The next stop was Miami, where I expected to spend few days visiting family, learning about American culture, and, of course, relaxing on the beach.

America was my departure point to go above the Pacific to Vietnam. I spent 14 days, as it had been on my bucket list for so long, dreaming about the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay and the rice fields.

I met several fascinating people and had an excellent gastronomic experience there; my time there was intense and full of new experiences.

Moving ahead in this story, I decided to spend the balance of my free time in Jakarta, Indonesia, with a special friend before returning to the UK. I’ve been here for over three months, learning more about their culture and taking time to myself.

I feel that whenever we can spend time with ourselves, we learn more about what we enjoy and what we should do, which is why I made this blog: I want to share my experiences with you.
